Hey!Watch updates

November 21st, 2008 — 10:43am

Hi people,

We rewrote the entire S3 library using the curl command line, so the upload is more stable and doesn’t eat all the server memory. We used the official Amazon library which put the whole video into memory, this is why you got some videos not uploaded correctly. It should not be a problem anymore.

The deletion time has been removed, it means that the raw video will stay for 12 hours even if you encode it, and the encoded video will stay for 24 hours even if you download it. That limitation was pretty annoying for some of our customers, this is why we decided not to change the deletion time after a specific action.

Also, we added some specs when viewing details about a raw video as suggested on the forum.

Stay tuned, we’ll push a new awaited feature soon.

Hey!Watch small API change: Upload resource and status code [EDIT]

November 3rd, 2008 — 7:40pm

Hi people,

Just to notify you that we’ve just made a small update on the upload resource.

Instead of getting a 201 status code, you now have a 200 status code. We did this to avoid a weird timeout error since we’ve migrated HeyWatch to Phusion Passenger.

We’ll change back the status code when we’ll find a workaround. Of course, you’ll be notified here and on twitter.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

Edit:

The status is back to 201. All the problems are fixed now.
